You have recollections, but you are not sure how to turn them into a memoir or collection of personal essays. This class will help you develop your first chapter. By reading selections from good memoir and doing craft exercises, you’ll learn about different structures and gain focus. In later sessions, we’ll read and provide feedback on each other's work. The course is open to writers of all levels who have a memoir project underway or have a collection of reflections and stories they desire to transform into memoir.
Cost: $80/$60 for Literary Cleveland members. (Click link to register)
Charlotte Morgan teaches in the First Year Writing program at Cleveland State and in her spare time, writes about race, gender and place using literary journalism and other forms of nonfiction. Her essay collection, From Superman to Superfly, will be released this year and her upcoming true crime memoir, Judgment in Goshen, examines the issue of gun violence.
I loved that place! I spent hours there and downtown. These new libraries lack the proper ambiance. I will try and attend your next writing workshop.
