From Superman to Superfly - Finding my side of paradise

My name is Charlotte Morgan and I am a non-fiction writer. This blog is devoted to my work, and point of view. A one-time resident of Cleveland's Glenville neighborhood, my first collection of essays tells the story of a place where Superman was created. This left a residue of hope and became of hub of creativity of all sorts. From athletes to politicians, Glenville gave the country the famous and the infamous. Where do I fit in, I am writing to find my place. The photo above is the neighborhood library where I spent my youth. (Photo courtesy of the Cleveland Public Library)

Next month, I am leading a new workshop. "The Shape of Memoir"Sat. 3/3, 3/10, 3/24 & 3/31.
10 am -12 pm. WhereGordon Square Arcade Conference Room, 6516 Detroit Ave, Cleveland OH 44102

You have recollections, but you are not sure how to turn them into a memoir or collection of personal essays. This class will help you develop your first chapter. By reading selections from good memoir and doing craft exercises, you’ll learn about different structures and gain focus. In later sessions, we’ll read and provide feedback on each other's work. The course is open to writers of all levels who have a memoir project underway or have a collection of reflections and stories they desire to transform into memoir.

Cost: $80/$60 for Literary Cleveland members. (Click link to register)
